Coen lab calendar A calendar based on my PhD lab’s science. Some work in the lab uses computer modelling to research how cells divide in plants to make the shapes we see in nature. This is an image based on one of those models, showing how different cells can have different directions. My research in the lab was on snapdragons (Antirrhinum species). These are some of the 20-30 species that grow on the Iberian Peninsula Another plant used in the lab is Utricularia gibba, an aquatic carnivorous plant that uses ball-shaped cups to digest its insect prey Computer modelling can be used to look at how whole plant organs grow. This image is based on a model of how maize leaves develop. Every Christmas in the lab, we assemble our advent village. These are illustrations I made of the various houses in the village
